Delkevic exhaust -> rejetting??

  • Hey there

New here... Pleasure being a new member...

I'm a viking from Denmark seeking advice, considering fitting a new stainless steel replacement exhaust for my NTV 650 1997.

I'm looking at the delkevic 40cm with a baffle...

Delkevic says there's no need for rejetting when mounting the new exhaust... Question is, can this be true?
Is the delkevic less restrictive than the original?

    Best regards from Malte

  • Hello.
Just put it on and have fun. No other modifications needed.
To me it felt like it had a little more top end power.
But it might just have been the brutal noise that made me think it was more powerful.
To me it was too loud even with earplugs.
Racetrack use only, here in Germany.

    Have a nice weekend.

  • I always had the baffle in and it was too loud.
After about a thousand km on the Nordschleife it became even louder.
Without the baffle it was really stupid. Did not ride it without the baffle.
I even tried the bigger baffle that is available to make it a little less noisy.
    Did not make any difference.
Biggest advantage was the greater ground clearance and the reduced weight compared to the stock exhaust.
Now I'm back to the stock exhaust and everything is much more relaxed.

For Track Use Delkevic is fine.
On the road you would make a lot of people angry I would guess.
